NEWBORN PORTRAITS
Your newborn is a masterpiece.
Fine Art newborn portraits are something a little different.
These sessions focus on parents and their baby together, using simple black-and-white imagery and dramatic light to create portraits that feel deeply personal. The posing is carefully guided, but the feeling of the images comes from the natural connection between you and your newborn.
Instead of lots of setups, we focus on a small number of beautiful portraits — mother and baby, father and baby, and parents together photographed in a way that highlights your newest family member and just how small and precious they are.
The Session
Your Fine Art newborn session takes place in the studio and typically lasts 2–3 hours. These sessions focus on parent portraits with your newborn baby, creating a small series of black-and-white images of mother and baby, father and baby, and parents together. A small number of simple baby-only portraits are also included.
Lighting and posing are carefully guided to create timeless portraits that highlight the connection between you and your baby.
Preparing Your Portraits
After the session, I carefully refine a small collection of portraits from our time together. Each image is thoughtfully hand retouched and prepared for printing.
Studio Viewing
A few weeks after your session, you will return to the studio for your portrait viewing. Your portraits will be printed and displayed for you to see and hold in person. Viewing physical prints allows you to experience the images the way they are meant to be seen.
Selecting Your Portraits
At your Selection Appointment, you will be able to view 15-18 portraits from your session to select your favorite 10 to take home. Each selected image will be printed as an 8x10 Fine Art print and presented with a keepsake box crafted in Italy. Matching digital files are included.
